Teacher at Islamic Boarding School Allegedly Molested Four Female Students, Arrested After a Year on the Run

The arrest was carried out by the Special Crime Task Force of the Maros Police, who had been pursuing the suspect. After his whereabouts were identified in the city of Bontang, East Kalimantan, on Friday (15/5).

“Thank God, the person who was a fugitive in the case of molesting female students has been secured. We apprehended him in East Kalimantan,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Maros Police, AKP Ridwan, as reported by detikSulsel, on Sunday (17/5/2026).

Ridwan revealed that the suspect was arrested without resistance. After being arrested, AN was then detained and questioned at the Maros Police headquarters.

“He is now in the detention center of the Maros Police and undergoing questioning,” he said.

Based on the victims’ testimonies, Ridwan explained that the incident occurred on December 10, 2024, and was only reported to the Maros Police in February 2025. The suspect was reported by his female students because they felt they had been molested in AN’s private room.

“At the Islamic boarding school, the victims, who were female students, were called by the suspect to his private room to give him a massage. Then, a few days later, the victims were called again by the suspect to give him a massage, and then the suspect committed sexual harassment,” he explained.
