Taxi driver murdered by robbers

JAKARTA: The driver of Tiffani taxi was found murdered in his cab, parked along Bypass road in East Jakarta, apparently after being robbed on Monday night.

Pulogadung Police Subprecinct Chief, Second Insp. Bambang, said the driver has not yet been identified, and that police were still searching for suspects involved in the incident.

He was quoted by Antara as saying that the Tiffani taxi management could also not yet identify whether the driver was fully employed, or a substitute.

Hundreds of the cab drivers from Tiffani taxi came to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital's morgue to see the driver's body, but they, too, were unable to identify him.

According to police, the driver's taxi was a Toyota Soluna with door number of 673.--JP
