Tax Revenue Reaches Rp834.4 T in May 2026, Growing 22.1%
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced that government tax revenue in the first five months of this year, as of the end of May 2026, had reached Rp834.4 trillion.
This amount is equivalent to 35.45% of the 2026 State Budget (APBN) target of Rp2,357.7 trillion, marking an increase of approximately 22.1% from the realisation of Rp683.3 trillion in the same period last year.
“There is a significant improvement in taxation compared to last year’s conditions,” Purbaya stated during an APBN press conference at the Ministry of Finance’s Central Office in Jakarta on Friday (5/6/2026).
He expressed confidence that the government could maintain the rapid growth of tax revenue at around 20% by the end of the year.
According to him, this improvement in tax revenue is due to the government’s ability to enhance the performance and services of the Directorate General of Taxation (DJP).
“We will try to push it further upwards, exceeding 20%, in line with improvements in taxation,” Purbaya explained.
