Tax Revenue Reaches IDR 245.1 Trillion in February 2026, VAT and Excise Tax Grow 97%
Jakarta — Tax revenue in the first two months of 2026 has reached IDR 245.1 trillion, growing 30.4% compared to the same period last year.
Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara explained that the rapid growth in tax receipts through the end of February 2026 is driven by accelerating economic activity amongst the population.
“Economic activity continues,” said Suahasil Nazara during a press conference on state budget realisation at his office in Jakarta on Wednesday (11/3/2026).
Suahasil stated that economic activity is the primary driver of tax growth, evident from the broad-based growth across all tax categories in February 2026.
The largest contribution came from Value Added Tax (VAT) and Excise Tax collection, which grew 97.4% to reach IDR 85.9 trillion.
This was followed by other tax components growing 24.2%, valued at IDR 54.4 trillion.
“When there are transactions, VAT is paid. This shows that economic transactions continue, activity continues,” said Suahasil.
Corporate income tax (PPh Badan) grew 4.4% in February 2026 with a value of IDR 23.7 trillion. Personal income tax and income tax withholding (PPh 21) grew 3.4% with a value of IDR 29 trillion.
Meanwhile, final income tax, income tax article 22, and income tax article 26 grew 4.4% with a value of IDR 52.2 trillion.
