The Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance has reported that tax revenue performance remained robust in the first half of 2026, even as commodity prices began to ease. Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto stated that tax revenue up to June 2026, or the first semester of 2026, reached Rp1,035.7 trillion, representing a growth of 24.6%. This achievement accounts for 43.9% of the State Budget target.

"Tax performance in the first semester of 2026 saw net accumulated revenue growth at 24.6%. This remains very optimistic, as the 2026 State Budget targets growth of 22.9%," Bimo said during the 2026 Tax Dialogue on Monday.

This growth in tax revenue occurred evenly across all Regional Offices, with increases also recorded in all tax types. "We can report that gross revenue grew evenly across all 34 Regional Offices," Bimo continued.

Bimo detailed the tax growth, noting that Corporate Income Tax and Corporate Income Tax deposits grew by 28.6% to Rp196.1 trillion. Individual Income Tax, Article 21 Income Tax, and Article 21 deposits grew by 13.6% to Rp146.9 trillion. Final Income Tax, Article 22 Income Tax, and Article 26 Income Tax grew by 1.4% to Rp159.9 trillion. Value Added Tax and Sales Tax on Luxury Goods grew by 42.2% to Rp380 trillion, while other taxes grew by 22.7% to Rp153.8 trillion.

"In almost all tax types, growth has accelerated significantly. Corporate Income Tax and its deposits grew by 28.6%. VAT and Luxury Goods Sales Tax grew very high at 42.2%. Others also grew in the range of 13% to 22%," he explained.
