Tax Office Visits Corporations Directly to Collect Corporate Tax Returns
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Director General of Taxes (DJP), Bimo Wijayanto, has acknowledged that the Coretax system used for annual tax return (SPT) reporting is still not perfect. However, he emphasised that tax officials are truly committed to their work. All tax officials across Indonesia’s tax offices are serving taxpayers without rest, including weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. “When working from home, they maintain 50% capacity, service levels are upheld on Saturdays and Sundays as well, and we have also reached out to all corporations that we detected need assistance,” said Bimo during an inspection at the Gambir Madya Tax Office in Central Jakarta on Thursday (30/4/2026). DJP staff are present at corporations to help them prepare the necessary administrative completeness for corporate taxpayers. Therefore, DJP is considering granting relief in the form of exemption from penalties for corporate taxpayers, or companies, that are late in reporting their 2025 annual SPT until the end of May 2026. “We are currently processing the annual corporate income tax SPT, and we will soon release details on the extension of the reporting period,” he said. Bimo explained that the reason behind this relief is to provide certainty to taxpayers to fully utilise the 2025 tax period annual SPT reporting window. Moreover, there are still adjustments being made to the Coretax system, which has become the main instrument for SPT reporting. “Hopefully, this can provide greater certainty for taxpayers and also more time to prepare everything needed as requirements for the accuracy of calculations and other administrative completeness for submitting the corporate income tax SPT,” he added.
