The Regional Offices of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) under the Ministry of Finance in West Java and East Java are conducting a Simultaneous Seizure Week targeting the assets of tax delinquents. During the period of 22-26 June 2026, the DJP Regional Offices from West Java to East Java seized 518 assets from tax defaulters, with an estimated total value of Rp 78.96 billion. Through the implementation of the 2026 Simultaneous Seizure Week, the DJP hopes to increase taxpayer awareness and compliance in fulfilling their tax obligations, whilst strengthening the effectiveness of law enforcement in the taxation sector in a professional, measured, and fair manner.

Director of Law Enforcement at DJP, Samingun, stressed the importance of communication and education for taxpayers during the collection process. According to him, it is possible that some taxpayers are unaware of their outstanding tax debts. “A taxpayer may not necessarily know that they still have tax debts. Therefore, officers need to ensure this information is properly conveyed to the taxpayer and provide education regarding the tax obligations that must still be fulfilled,” said Samingun, quoted from a press release on Thursday (25/6/2026).

In West Java, the Simultaneous Seizure Week was carried out by the DJP Regional Offices of West Java I, West Java II, and West Java III against 288 assets with an estimated value reaching Rp 54.06 billion. In detail, the DJP West Java I Regional Office seized 106 assets with an estimated value of Rp 12.06 billion. The DJP West Java II Regional Office seized 71 assets with an estimated value of Rp 27.95 billion, and the DJP West Java III Regional Office seized 111 assets with an estimated value of Rp 14.04 billion.

Meanwhile, in East Java, simultaneous asset seizures were carried out by the DJP Regional Offices of East Java I, II, and III, as a firm step against taxpayers who have not settled their tax debts after the due date and have received a Distress Warrant. This seizure was carried out against 158 tax delinquents with total tax arrears of Rp 621.2 billion. The total assets seized amounted to 230 units with an estimated value of Rp 24.9 billion. “This seizure is a follow-up step taken by the DJP. Previously, persuasive efforts were made to the taxpayers. However, because the taxpayers did not settle their tax debts, the DJP used its authority to carry out the seizure,” said Head of the East Java Law Enforcement Working Group, Rachmad Auladi.

The targets of the seizure are taxpayers who have received warning letters and distress warrants but have not shown good faith to settle their tax obligations. The seized assets are the result of asset tracing by the State Tax Bailiff and are confirmed to be legally valid. If by the specified time the taxpayer cannot settle or shows no good faith regarding the tax arrears, the seized assets will proceed to the auction stage through cooperation with the Directorate General of State Assets. The State Tax Bailiff has the authority to carry out seizures as stipulated in Law Number 19 of 1997 in conjunction with Law Number 19 of 2000 concerning Tax Collection with Tax Letters, further regulated by the Minister of Finance Regulation PMK-61 of 2023 concerning Procedures for the Implementation of Tax Collection on Outstanding Tax Amounts. Through this measure, the Directorate General of Taxes requests that the public not worry, as active collection is only aimed at taxpayers who have tax debts and is not directed at taxpayers who have properly fulfilled their tax obligations.
