Tax office on Net

JAKARTA (JP): The Directorate General of Tax launched on
Monday its homepage http://www.pajak.go.id in a bid to educate
both local and foreign taxpayers about their obligations.

Director General of Tax Anshari Ritonga said the Internet was
an effective means to communicate the office's policy and
simultaneously obtain feedback from the public.

He added the launching of the homepage was part of the
government's efforts to improve transparency.

English translations of all the homepage's contents were not
completed, but English text of the new tax law is available.

The homepage has 15 menus covering items such as tax rulings,
news and information, the country's tax system,and a suggestion
