Tax Office Develops Taxpayer Asset Tracking System to Accelerate Settlement of Arrears
The Director General of Taxation, Bimo Wijayanto, explained that the Directorate General of Taxation (DJP) is currently developing a system called the Asset Recovery Management System (ARMS) to track taxpayer assets. The system is scheduled to be completed and operational in 2026. “This module will be finalised in 2026. Internally, we have launched a Director General’s Circular to manage taxpayer assets under the control of the Directorate General of Taxation,” Bimo stated, quoted from Kontan on Tuesday (5/5/2026). This step is considered important for collecting arrears and enforcing tax laws in Indonesia. ARMS is expected to strengthen DJP’s visibility in monitoring tax defaulters to ensure they promptly settle their obligations. “We hope it will impact the acceleration of tax arrears repayment and the recovery of assets in the context of recovering proceeds from tax crimes,” he said. This policy is outlined in Announcement No. PENG-31/PJ.09/2026, which regulates the waiver of administrative sanctions for delays in payment and reporting of the Annual Corporate Income Tax (PPh) Return for the 2025 Tax Year. In addition to SPT reporting, these provisions apply to Article 29 PPh payments and the settlement of tax underpayments listed in the Annual SPT. If a Tax Assessment Notice (STP) has been issued for administrative sanctions during that period, DJP will immediately cancel the sanctions ex officio.
