Tax Office Confirms No Further Extension for Individual Income Tax Return Filing
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has assured that there will be no extension of the deadline for submitting the Annual Income Tax Return (SPT PPh) for individual taxpayers (WP OP).
Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto stated that the filing deadline for individual taxpayers had previously been granted an additional one-month extension.
Originally, the deadline for individual taxpayers was 31 March 2026, but it was extended again until today, 30 April 2026.
Bimo emphasised that individual taxpayers who fail to submit their SPT by the deadline will still be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable provisions.
“Yes, apologies, but the fine is not large. Please read the law,” he said.
He conveyed that his office is currently reviewing the final day of submission for the 2025 Corporate Income Tax (PPh) SPT.
From that number, the compliance rate of taxpayers who have submitted their SPT stands at around 67 per cent, while the achievement against this year’s reporting target is at 83.2 per cent.
He also mentioned that cumulative tax revenue performance up to the previous day still shows positive growth compared to the same period last year.
Nevertheless, his office is still awaiting submissions of SPT from individual taxpayers, corporations, and Value Added Tax (PPN) SPT on the final reporting day.
In addition to administrative fines, taxpayers proven to have not reported their SPT correctly may also face criminal sanctions in accordance with applicable provisions.
