Tax Director General: Annual SPT Reporting Reaches 12.7 Million by 30 April
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Director General of Taxation at the Ministry of Finance, Bimo Wijayanto, stated that the number of annual Income Tax Return (SPT PPh) filings for the 2025 tax year has reached 12.7 million as of 30 April 2026.
Bimo noted that this figure represents submissions received up to 12:00 WIB on the final day for submitting corporate income tax returns (SPT PPh) nationwide.
“Here we are reviewing the final day of submissions for the 2025 corporate income tax returns, tax year 2025. We can report that as of 12 o’clock today, 12.7 million SPTs have been received,” Bimo said during a press conference while visiting the Jakarta Madya Tax Office on Thursday.
He explained that this achievement indicates fairly good participation from taxpayers in fulfilling their annual tax reporting obligations to the government on a national scale.
According to him, the current compliance rate for SPT obligations has reached around 67% of the total taxpayers required to file.
Meanwhile, the realisation of filings against this year’s SPT target has reached approximately 83.2% of the 15 million taxpayer target.
“The achievement from those obligated to file SPT is around 67%, and from this year’s SPT target, 83.2%. Thanks to this performance, tax revenue growth has, alhamdulillah, been positive compared to the same period last year,” he said.
The Directorate General of Taxation is still awaiting additional filings from taxpayers, both for individual income tax returns (SPT PPh), corporate income tax returns (SPT PPh), and Value Added Tax returns (SPT VAT).
He revealed that he has sought guidance from Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa regarding the possibility of granting relaxations or extensions for submitting the 2025 corporate income tax annual SPT.
According to him, the policy on extending the filing period is still in the processing stage and will be announced soon after thorough analysis by the relevant parties.
In addition, the government is also calculating the possibility of tax payment relaxations, which is currently under study before an official decision is made.
Bimo hopes that such relaxations can provide certainty and additional time for taxpayers to prepare their administrative completeness and calculations for SPT filing.
“We realise that our core tax administration system is not yet perfect, but our services are truly comprehensive. Our members across all tax offices, regional offices, and throughout Indonesia are serving without rest, even until Friday, Saturday, Sunday,” he emphasised.
He affirmed the Directorate General of Taxation’s commitment to improving services, including keeping tax offices open over the weekend and providing direct assistance to taxpayers.
“On Friday during work from home, they still maintain 50% service capacity. The same for Saturday and Sunday. And we have also proactively approached all corporations that we detected need assistance from our members throughout Indonesia,” he said.
“So once again, we are committed to services that truly approach taxpayers and fully assist them,” Bimo added.
