Tax Deadline 31 May: Tax Directorate Urges Corporate Taxpayers to File Returns
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has recorded over one million annual corporate income tax returns filed. The figure comes ahead of the May 31, 2026 deadline for corporate taxpayers to submit their annual tax returns. Inge Diana Rismawanti, Director of Tax Education, Services, and Public Relations at DJP, stated that as of May 28, 2026, 1,010,421 corporate tax returns had been submitted. “The DJP urges corporate taxpayers who have not yet filed to submit their returns before the May 31, 2026 deadline,” Inge said in a statement on Friday (May 29, 2026). The data pertains to taxpayers with a calendar year accounting period (January to December). Separately, taxpayers with different fiscal years, who began filing from August 1, 2025, have submitted 36,625 corporate tax returns in rupiah. This group also submitted 43 corporate tax returns in US dollars. DJP also reported that 1,139,276 corporate taxpayers have activated their Coretax DJP accounts. According to Inge, digital services via Coretax DJP are intended to simplify taxpayers’ compliance with tax obligations. Inge warned that late filing of annual tax returns may incur administrative penalties as per tax regulations. Therefore, the DJP urges corporate taxpayers to utilise the remaining filing period. Taxpayers are advised to promptly submit their annual returns and ensure all tax-related data and documents are complete and accurate. “The DJP continues to provide easy, transparent, and digital-based tax services to enhance voluntary taxpayer compliance,” Inge said.
