Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Director General of Taxation, Bimo Wijayanto, is optimistic that the capacity of the CoreTax system will remain secure despite the peak reporting of Annual Tax Return Notices (SPT) for individual taxpayers potentially coinciding with those for corporate taxpayers at the end of April 2026. This is because the Directorate General of Taxation (DJP) has provided leniency for individual taxpayers who are late in submitting their annual tax return notices for the 2025 period. This policy takes the form of an exemption from administrative sanctions until 30 April 2026. Bimo revealed that the number of SPT submissions so far has reached 9.1 million. This means the remaining reporting load is estimated at around 6 million SPTs. “We’ve already almost reached 9.1 million, with only 6 million left, so we’re confident,” said Bimo when met at the Ministry of Finance office on Friday (27/3/2026). To anticipate a surge in traffic, DJP has strengthened its infrastructure, including the addition of server nodes and an increase in network bandwidth. “We’ve added two server nodes and increased the bandwidth,” he emphasised. Based on DJP’s monitoring, the system’s current capacity can handle up to 390,000 SPTs per day, for both individual and corporate taxpayers. Meanwhile, for corporate taxpayers, the peak reporting is estimated to reach around 80,000 SPTs per day. “So just do the math. And that’s without using all the bandwidth and network strength we’ve prepared,” he stated.
