Taufik wins Andrean loses
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian Chess Association (Percasi) Master (MP) Andrean Susilodinata, 10, was defeated by Fikol Bindrich of Germany at the 38th move of Caro-Kann defense over a time crisis in the World Youth Chess Championship in Oropesa del Mar, Spain. He was thrown to the 13-21 place with 3.5 VPs.
MP Taufik Halay, playing in the 14-year age group, beat Armenian chess player Hayk Vardanyan at the 23rd move of King Hindu defense. He is in fourth place with 4 VPs.
MP Susanto Megaranto, also in the 14-year age group, beat Israeli Leonid Guerzhov at the 34th move of Sicilian defense.
MP Ferry Ferdiansyah, playing in the 12-year age group, tied in the 69th move with Canadian Thomas Roussel-Roozmon. Playing in the 16-year age group MP Tirta Chandra beat Spaniard Francisco Sanchez Saez at the 48th movement of King Hindu defense. (nvn)
