Taufik Kiemas hospitalized

INDONESIA: Taufik Kiemas, the husband of former president
Megawati Soekarnoputri, was admitted to the Harapan Kita cardiac
hospital in Jakarta on Friday afternoon.

Megawati visited her husband on Saturday afternoon. Taufik is
being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit.

However, Tjahjo Kumolo, the chairman of the Indonesian
Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) faction in the
House of Representatives, said that Taufik was only receiving a
regular medical checkup. He did not provide details.

Taufik was admitted to the Abdi Waluyo hospital in Menteng on
Wednesday.

In 2004, Taufik received treatment at the Harapan Kita
hospital. He later traveled to a cardiac hospital in Penang,
Malaysia, for further treatment.

He underwent a by-pass operation in Australia in 2000 but has
