Taufik Hidayat's Victim YTR Had Serious Head Infection with Maggots

YTR (29), a woman from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, was rushed to Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung with multiple wounds. The victim of torture by Taufik Hidayat was in a helpless state when she was taken to the hospital by her boyfriend. The incident occurred before the case was finally revealed to the public. When she was taken to RSHS, YTR was accompanied by two men, one of whom was her boyfriend and the perpetrator who tortured and held her captive for three years, Taufik Hidayat. Shortly after being brought to RSHS, the case came to light. YTR arrived in the early hours around 02.00 WIB in a minibus. She had previously been taken to Bandung City Regional Hospital, also known as Ujungberung Regional Hospital. However, Ujungberung Hospital requested that YTR be referred to RSHS due to limited medical equipment. YTR’s arrival at the RSHS Bandung emergency room was recorded on CCTV. During a press conference at the West Java Regional Police headquarters on Friday (26/6), the recording was shown. ‘When she arrived, it can be said that she had many wounds and a serious infection in the head area,’ said RSHS Bandung Director Rachim Dinata Marsidi. He added that maggots were even found in YTR’s head. ‘One could say there were maggots,’ he stated. Upon discovering YTR’s alarming condition, the hospital immediately performed surgery on the victim’s head. ‘We promptly carried out an operation to clean these wounds and we found bacteria that were quite severe,’ Rachim said. ‘From the 10th, for almost a week, after the cleaning was done, we continued to eliminate the infection,’ he added. Rachim mentioned that once the infection in YTR’s head has healed, the team will proceed with facial reconstruction for the victim. ‘The most severe damage is on the face and this is planned to be done in stages, it is called reconstruction. So it is not about beauty, this is about restoring the reconstruction so that it can be close to normal. Perfection is very, very difficult, but we will try,’ he concluded.
