Taufik Hidayat's Trail Emerges: Suspect in Confinement Case Allegedly Spotted in Tangerang After Three Months in Cinunuk

Jakarta – The case of alleged confinement and abuse suffered by YTR continues to draw public attention. Amidst the police manhunt for Taufik Hidayat, also known as TH, information regarding the fugitive’s trail has begun to surface. After his hiding place in the Cinunuk area of Bandung Regency was uncovered, residents have now reported seeing a person suspected to be Taufik Hidayat in the Serpong area of Tangerang. Authorities are continuing their search for TH, who is suspected of confining and abusing the victim for years. The victim is still undergoing recovery after being found in a deplorable condition with wounds all over the body.

Pepen, the head of RW 07 in Cinunuk Village, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, provided information about Taufik Hidayat’s presence before the case came to light. According to Pepen, the perpetrator and the victim lived in a rented house or boarding room in his area for approximately three months. “The perpetrator lived here for only about three months, starting around March or April 2026 until the incident was uncovered. As it happened, the victim was immediately taken to the hospital,” Pepen said, as quoted from the TvOne YouTube channel on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. He added that the local administrators had previously urged the head of the neighbourhood unit to ensure all boarding house residents, especially in RW 07, submitted their personal data, including family cards, identity cards, and marriage certificates for those who were married.

This account reveals that Taufik Hidayat and the victim had settled in the area for quite some time before the case became public. Pepen also disclosed that the community unit had repeatedly requested identity documents from the residents, including Taufik Hidayat, but the requests were never fulfilled. “The perpetrator never provided his identity documents. We from the administrators continuously urged and requested this data, but the perpetrator always made excuses, claiming his marriage certificate and other identity papers were left behind in his home region of Nagreg,” he stated.
