Taufik Hidayat's Hiding Place Exposed, Police Arrest Him in Majalaya
The mystery surrounding the arrest location of Taufik Hidayat (30), a suspect in the alleged confinement and abuse of his girlfriend, YTR (29), has finally been revealed. The man who had been a police fugitive was arrested in the Majalaya area of Bandung Regency. This information was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan. The arrest was carried out by West Java Regional Police personnel after several days of pursuing the suspect. “The perpetrator of the abuse and confinement, Taufik Hidayat, was arrested within the jurisdiction of the Bandung Police, precisely in Majalaya,” he said on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. Previously, police had only disclosed that Taufik was arrested in the Greater Bandung area without explaining the specific location of his capture. The arrest is a significant development in a case that shocked the public after YTR was found in critical condition following an alleged confinement and abuse lasting approximately three years. In this case, Taufik has been named a suspect and was placed on the Wanted Persons List (DPO). Police even formed a joint team to hunt down the perpetrator, who allegedly fled after the case came to light. It is known that a woman from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, is suspected to be a victim of confinement and abuse by her boyfriend. The woman, with the initials YTR, was allegedly confined by the perpetrator, Taufik Hidayat, in a rented room and had been reported missing by her family for three years. After the victim introduced her boyfriend to her parents, the family lost contact with YTR for years. YTR was eventually found in critical condition with severe injuries resulting from the alleged confinement and abuse. The confinement is suspected to have occurred in a rented room leased by Taufik Hidayat in the Bandung Regency area. The relatively quiet environment of the boarding house is thought to have made the perpetrator’s activities difficult for local residents to detect.
