Taufik Hidayat Imprisoned and Tortured YTR, Causing Severe Injuries in Four Different Boarding Houses

The West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, explained that there were four separate locations where Taufik Hidayat (30) held and assaulted his partner, YTR (29).

The first incident occurred at a boarding house in the Cicaheum area, Bandung City, from 15 May 2024 to 15 September 2024. During this period, YTR was assaulted by being punched in the chest with bare hands and burnt with cigarettes whenever the perpetrator was frustrated.

“Based on statements from several witnesses, including the victim, and our questioning of the suspect, the victim experienced violence here, including being punched in the body and burnt with cigarettes,” said Inspector General Rudi at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters on Friday, 26 June 2026.

The second location was also a boarding house in the Cicaheum area, near the first site. The abuse continued from September 2024 until January 2025. At this location, the victim was struck in the left eye with an iron bar.

“At the second crime scene, the left eye was struck with iron. This caused the injury that, according to the Hospital Director, has reportedly resulted in the victim losing their sight,” he stated.

The perpetrator was subsequently evicted by the boarding house owner in Cicaheum following a dispute with another resident. From Cicaheum, the perpetrator and the victim moved to a boarding house in the Cilengkrang area, Bandung Regency.

Inspector General Rudi explained that they resided there between February 2025 and December 2025. In that boarding house, the victim was struck in the right eye with a helmet. Additionally, the victim’s knee was stabbed by the perpetrator, causing difficulty in walking.

“The second crime scene involved the left eye, and at the third crime scene, the right eye was struck with a helmet. The victim has now begun to lose sight in both eyes. There was also violence to the knee, which was slashed with a sharp object, making it difficult for the victim to walk,” he said.

The final location of the abuse occurred at a boarding house in the Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency. They lived there from January 2026 until June 2026.

There, the victim was struck on the head with a helmet and an iron bar. Furthermore, the victim’s lip was slashed with a sharp weapon, resulting in difficulty speaking.
