Taufik Hidayat Imprisoned and Tortured YTR, Causing Severe Injuries in Four Different Boarding Houses

Jakarta – The West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, has detailed four locations where Taufik Hidayat (30) imprisoned and tortured his girlfriend, YTR (29). The first location was a boarding house in the Cicaheum area, Bandung City, where the abuse took place from 15 May 2024 to 15 September 2024. At this location, YTR was beaten on the chest with bare hands and burned with cigarettes whenever the perpetrator was upset. ‘From the statements of several witnesses, including the victim, and after we questioned the suspect, at this place the victim experienced violence, was beaten on the body, and burned with cigarettes,’ said Inspector General Rudi at the West Java Police Headquarters on Friday, 26 June 2026. The second location was also a boarding house in the Cicaheum area, not far from the first, where the abuse continued from September 2024 to January 2025. Here, the victim was struck in the left eye with a piece of iron. ‘At this second crime scene, the victim was hit in the left eye with iron. This caused the condition that, according to the hospital director, has resulted in her being unable to see,’ he stated. The perpetrator was subsequently evicted by the boarding house owner after a quarrel with another resident. The couple then moved to a boarding house in the Cilengkrang area, Bandung Regency, where they lived from February 2025 to December 2025. At this third location, the victim was beaten in the right eye with a helmet, and her knee was stabbed, causing difficulty walking. ‘Earlier at the second scene it was the left eye, at this third scene the right eye was hit with a helmet. The victim could no longer see through either eye. She also suffered violence to her knee, which was slashed with a sharp object, making it difficult for her to walk,’ he explained. The final location of the abuse was a boarding house in Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, where they resided from January 2026 to June 2026. There, the victim was beaten on the head with a helmet and an iron bar, and her lips were slashed with a sharp weapon, causing her difficulty in speaking.
