Taufik Hidayat Charged with Three Counts in YTR Confinement Case

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) has indicted Taufund Hidayat (30) at the Bale Bandung District Court, Bandung Regency, West Java, with three cumulative charges regarding alleged sexual violence, physical assault, and the confinement of a victim identified by the initials YTR.

The Head of the General Crimes Section of the Bandung Regency Prosecutor’s Office, Nizar Febriansyah, stated in Bandung on Wednesday that the three charges were structured cumulatively based on the series of acts attributed to the defendant.

“The indictment has been explained; the charges we have provided are cumulative in nature, corresponding to the sequence of the defendant’s actions, consisting of three counts,” he said.

Nizar noted that the first charge relates to the Sexual Violence Crimes Law (TPKS), while the second charge utilises Article 451 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP).

As for the third charge, he stated, it utilises Article 468, Paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, pertaining to the acts alleged against the defendant.

“The defendant’s actions are regulated and punishable under Article 13 of Law No. 12 of 2022 on TPKS, Article 451 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the KUHP, and Article 468, Paragraph (1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the KUHP,” he added.

In the indictment, the Public Prosecutor detailed a series of actions against the victim that allegedly took place from approximately December 2024 to June 2026 across various locations in Bandung Regency.

This series of actions includes alleged physical violence, the restriction of the victim’s liberty, and sexual violence committed by the defendant during that period.

Nizar explained that the cumulative indictment was prepared to illustrate the sequence of acts charged against Taufik within a single case, ensuring all alleged offences can be examined during the trial process.

“The important thing is that efficiency is achieved,” Nizar said regarding the examination process in court.

As a result of these actions, the victim sustained several severe injuries as documented in medical examinations, including damage to both eyes, facial wounds, a fractured facial bone, and the loss of several teeth.

The case will proceed through the trial stages at the Bale Bandung District Court, based on the indictment read by the Public Prosecutor against the defendant.
