Taufik Hidayat Apologises for Assault, Victim's Family Rejects Forgiveness

Taufik Hidayat, a suspect in the premeditated assault and confinement case against victim Yuvita Tri Rezeki, has expressed regret and apologised to the victim’s family. However, the apology was not accepted by Yuvita’s family. “I apologise, I was wrong, I regret it. I am sorry,” Taufik said during a press conference at the West Java Regional Police headquarters on Friday (26/6/2026). He was under tight guard by officers and kept his head bowed. Following the press conference, Taufik Hidayat was presented before the media. The suspect merely hung his head until officers ‘forced’ him to lift his head and subsequently apologise. After the apology, he was bombarded with questions from journalists asking why he committed the act against Yuvita. Taufik remained silent and kept his head bowed. He was then immediately escorted away by the police.
