TAUD Reports Alleged Terrorism and Attempted Murder of Andrie Yunus
The Tim Advokasi untuk Demokrasi (TAUD) has reported the acid attack on KontraS Deputy Coordinator Andrie Yunus to Bareskrim Polri. The report was submitted by Gema Gita Persada, Andrie Yunus’s legal representative, and registered under number LP/B/136/IV/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri on Wednesday (8 April). KontraS Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya described the filing as a follow-up, noting that the case, previously investigated by Polda Metro Jaya, had been transferred to Puspom TNI. “We followed up by filing a type B report, or a direct report from the victim represented by TAUD, to Polri headquarters, particularly the General Criminal Division,” he told reporters. In the report, TAUD assesses the acid attack on Andrie as an attempted premeditated murder and a suspected act of terrorism. “In response to what Mr Prabowo stated yesterday, that the action against Andrie is part of terrorism, we are also using the terrorism criminal provisions,” he explained. Dimas said they attached several civil investigation results as evidence to the Bareskrim Polri investigators. The suspects are alleged to have violated Article 459 jo Article 17 and/or Article 469 paragraph (1) jo Article 470 on attempted premeditated murder or serious assault, as well as Articles 601 and 602 jo Article 612 of the Criminal Code on terrorism offences. On the same occasion, Dimas also highlighted the lack of transparency in the military’s handling of the case. He mentioned four suspected perpetrators from TNI elements who are said to have been processed, but their identities and faces have never been publicised. “From the start, we felt it was odd because the four perpetrators from the TNI side were never shown to the public, their faces, identities, and other details were never released,” he said. According to him, this opens up space for speculation in society. The closed attitude shown in the military environment’s process, he said, also contradicts the transparency and accountability commitments previously stated by TNI and the government. “The current context at Puspom does not reflect transparency and accountability at all. Instead, it is closed, exclusive, and follows their own mechanisms or standard procedures in the TNI institution,” he added.
