Tattoo Removal in South Jakarta Provides Opportunity for Self-Improvement During Ramadan
The routine removal of tattoos aims to provide an opportunity for individuals who wish to make positive changes in their lives,” said the Mayor of South Jakarta, Muhammad Anwar, during the free tattoo removal event held in the Dirgantara Room of the South Jakarta Mayor’s Office on Thursday.
Anwar believes that tattoos often present obstacles or burdens, and he hopes that this free tattoo removal program will help people enhance their worship during Ramadan.
“It is hoped that by removing tattoos, participants will find guidance to increase their faith and piety towards God Almighty,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Baznas Bazis South Jakarta, Ahmad Kahpi, added that by facilitating individuals who wish to make positive changes and become better people, this tattoo removal program during Ramadan will undoubtedly be a source of blessings and good deeds, with rewards multiplied.
According to him, participants who wish to have their tattoos removed must first undergo a series of steps, including health checks such as blood pressure and blood tests.
“If any conditions are found that make the procedure inadvisable, the doctors from our team will provide further guidance and solutions. It is important to understand that tattoo removal cannot be achieved instantly with a single laser treatment, as skin sensitivity plays a significant role,” said Kahpi.
One of the participants, Budiandry (53), admitted that he chose to have his tattoo removed because it no longer serves a purpose.
“I got the tattoo in 1993. I wanted to create an impression of being cool. However, I was just following my friends at the time,” he said.
Furthermore, this moment coincides with Ramadan, so it can be one way to cleanse the heart and purify oneself, especially physically.
Budiandry expressed his gratitude to Baznas (Bazis) South Jakarta for this free tattoo removal program, hoping that it can be held regularly in the future.
“I encourage friends who are interested in removing their tattoos, especially since it is free, to join if there are similar events in the future,” he said.
