Tatang wins Mizuno golf event

JAKARTA: Tatang Pardjaman won the Mizuno golf amateur championship
while Januar was a close second for the grand prize at the Pantai
Indah Kapuk Golf Course here on Sunday.

Tatang, who has a handicap of six, shot one-over-par 37 in the
first nine and 3-over-par 39 in the second nine for an overall 76
shots, making him the best overall player in the 150-strong
field.

The third annual Mizuno golf tournament drew 150 players this
year divided in three flights: A for players with handicaps
between 1 and 12, B between 13 and 20 and C between 21 and 28.

Meanwhile, Januar, whose handicap was 20, went home in
14-over-par 84 to emerge as the best net scorer. He also came
close to winning the grand prize of a BMW for a hole-in-one when
he teed off on the third hole and saw his ball trickle within 30
inches (80 cm) of the pin. --JP
