Tata Tiago officially launched in India, starting at Rp80 million
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indian automaker Tata Motors has officially launched the latest Tata Tiago in its domestic market on Thursday, 28 May 2026. The compact hatchback is priced from just under Rp 100 million, attracting attention for its specifications comparable to Indonesia’s Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) models such as the Toyota Agya and Daihatsu Ayla. According to Gaadiwaadi, the Tiago measures 3,767mm in length, 1,677mm in width, 1,535mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,400mm. Its dimensions are similar to the Agya and Ayla, which also fall within the 3.7-metre length range. The petrol variant produces 86 PS with 113 Nm of torque, while the iCNG version delivers 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm of torque. Power is delivered via a 5-speed manual or Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). Notably, Tata offers a CNG engine paired with AMT, a configuration rare in the budget hatchback segment. Beyond the engine, the interior has been refreshed with a more modern and horizontal dashboard design. The car now features a floating 10.25-inch head unit, full digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and connected car features. Safety features include six standard airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a 360-degree camera. Alongside the petrol version, Tata has also launched a facelifted Tiago EV in India. The compact electric vehicle offers two battery options — 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh — with a claimed range of up to 285 km. The top variant produces 74 hp and 114 Nm of torque. Tata claims the 0-60 km/h acceleration can be achieved in 5.7 seconds in Sport mode. Notably, Tata offers a 15-year battery warranty for the first owner on the 24 kWh variant.
