TASPEN urges public to beware of scams targeting pensioners
PT TASPEN (Persero) has urged all participants and the public to be vigilant against various modes of fraud using the company’s name. Corporate Secretary Henra explained that detected scams include the use of fake social media accounts, WhatsApp messages, the distribution of phishing links, and the forgery of official documents. In addition, the evolving fraud tactics also involve the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create content, voices, or videos that resemble the company’s official identity. The company also discovered fraudulent offers of fund distribution programmes for pensioners through unofficial communication channels, which have the potential to mislead the public. TASPEN emphasised that the company never asks participants to pay administrative fees, send OTP codes, PINs, passwords, or other confidential data to obtain services or programme benefits. Henra underlined that participant protection is one of TASPEN’s top priorities in the face of increasing digital crime exploiting the company’s name. As a form of protection for participants, TASPEN urges the public to apply the ‘Hold, Verify, Report’ principle when responding to any information received. The public is expected to refrain from immediately believing circulating information, verify the truth through TASPEN’s official channels, and report any accounts or parties suspected of committing fraud. Official information is only distributed through TASPEN’s official website, official social media accounts, the Andal by Taspen application, TASPEN branch offices, and the Call Center at 1500 919.
