TASPEN Strengthens ESG Implementation with Green Miles Programme
PT TASPEN (Persero) has launched the Green Miles Programme, an environmentally friendly initiative that encourages all employees to adopt low-emission commuting habits as part of efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The programme was launched to coincide with Global Energy Independence Day on 10 July 2026, as a form of the company’s commitment to strengthening the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and building a sustainable work culture. Through this programme, TASPEN supports the selection of more sustainable modes of transportation, such as walking, cycling, using public transport, or car-sharing. Corporate Secretary of TASPEN, Henra, stated that sustainability is part of TASPEN’s transformation as a Center of Excellence in ESG implementation within the corporate environment. The Green Miles Programme is a concrete step by the company to encourage active employee involvement in supporting carbon emission reduction and building a work culture that is more environmentally conscious. ‘TASPEN believes that simple habits carried out consistently like this can contribute to a better earth,’ he said in a statement on Monday (20/7/2026). The Green Miles Programme will run from 10 July to 9 October 2026. During this period, employees can document their eco-friendly travel activities and upload them via a provided platform. The programme is part of TASPEN’s sustainability strategy. Beyond the Green Miles Programme, TASPEN is also implementing various other sustainability initiatives, including the installation of 20 kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar panels, the implementation of a cloud-based Energy Management System (EMS) at the Jakarta I branch office, the development of a Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL), increasing the target for the use of electric operational vehicles, and the planting of tens of thousands of trees across various regions in Indonesia, including collecting thousands of tree seedlings as a substitute for flower arrangements during its 63rd anniversary. This programme is part of TASPEN’s efforts to strengthen a culture of sustainability while affirming its role as a Center of Excellence in ESG implementation. Through various sustainability-oriented innovations, TASPEN supports a transformation that aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision in promoting sustainable development, energy resilience, and environmental preservation.
