TASPEN provides death benefits to family of teacher killed in Bekasi train accident
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT TASPEN (Persero) has handed over benefits to the heirs of a teacher from a state primary school in the Pulo Gebang area of East Jakarta, who was a victim of a train accident in East Bekasi some time ago.
TASPEN Corporate Secretary Henra expressed condolences for the accident. Henra also stated that through a quick and transparent process, the company will ensure that all of the victim’s rights are delivered.
“Through a quick and transparent process, we ensure that all the rights of the deceased are delivered to the family to help maintain their livelihood and the education of her child,” said Henra at City Hall on Wednesday.
The benefits provided include Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Old Age Savings (THT) worth Rp283.227.000.
The total benefits consist of two components, namely JKK benefits of Rp227.076.400, which cover death benefits, condolence money for death, funeral costs, and child education scholarship assistance, and THT of Rp56.150.600.
According to Henra, the provision of these benefits is a form of comprehensive protection provided by the state through TASPEN in guaranteeing the welfare of civil servants (ASN) and their families who face work risks.
“We extend our deepest condolences for the passing of Mrs Nurlaela. Her dedication as an educator is a great service to the nation,” Henra stated.
The handover of the assistance was symbolically given by Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno to the heirs.
He hopes that the assistance can somewhat alleviate the burden and serve as a sign of the government’s presence amid the grief being felt.
“This incident also serves as a reminder of the importance of safety in every activity, as well as the need to increase vigilance and protection for workers, especially those working in the field,” said Rano.
