JAKARTA – The BUMN Regulatory Agency (BP) and BPI Danantara are once again launching a free mudik (homecoming) programme in 2026 as a demonstration of support for Indonesia’s tradition of family reunions and social visits.

The programme involves nearly all SOEs and their subsidiaries, utilising various modes of transport and is targeted at more than 100,000 participants travelling to various districts and cities throughout Indonesia.

Overall, the BUMN Free Mudik Programme provides land, sea, and railway transportation facilities with guaranteed safety standards.

Some 33,000 participants will utilise 99 train services, whilst more than 5,000 participants will be transported via 42 ocean-going vessels.

As part of the Taspen Group synergy, PT Asuransi Jiwa Taspen (Taspen Life) is supporting the implementation of the free mudik programme under the coordination of PT TASPEN (Persero). This support is realised through the provision of life insurance protection for mudik participants.

Taspen Life stated its commitment to providing a mudik experience that is not only physically comfortable but also offers security through life and personal accident insurance protection.

Under this programme, participants receive protection benefits in the form of insurance coverage (UP) of Rp 20 million. This protection applies if an accident occurs resulting in death during the mudik journey.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of Taspen Life R Bayu Irawan stated that the collaboration in the free mudik programme represents the company’s commitment to providing protection for the community. Additionally, this initiative is expected to promote increased financial literacy and public awareness of the importance of insurance.

According to Taspen Life, support for the free mudik programme also represents an important milestone for the company, which is now entering its 12th year. At this stage, Taspen Life stated its commitment to maintaining solid company performance and upholding trust with participants.

The company has provided protection services to more than 1.3 million participants throughout Indonesia.
