Jakarta — PT Asuransi Jiwa Taspen (Taspen Life) is facilitating free insurance protection to 800 migrant travellers registered in the “Comfortable Migration Together PT Taspen (Persero)” programme.

Participants receive life insurance and personal accident protection with coverage of Rp20 million. These benefits apply in the event of accidents resulting in death during the migration journey.

“Through the spirit of ‘Comfortable Migration Together 2026’, we hope that synergies within the Taspen Group will provide broad benefits to participants. We want to ensure that moments spent gathering with family not only proceed smoothly logistically, but also provide peace of mind and security because each participant is protected by Taspen Life insurance,” said Acting Chief Director of Taspen Life R. Bayu Irawan in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Taspen Life is committed to providing a migration experience that is not only physically comfortable but also offers peace of mind and security through life insurance protection for migrant travellers.

Bayu stated that collaboration within the Taspen Group also represents a tangible expression of Taspen Life’s commitment to providing protection to the public whilst promoting increased literacy and public awareness regarding the importance of insurance in Indonesia.

Earlier, the National Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police appealed to migrant travellers to utilise rest areas to prevent traffic accidents. This appeal followed a 4.8 per cent increase in traffic accident cases on the second day of Operation Ketupat 2026, which occurred on Saturday (14 March), compared with the second day of Operation Ketupat 2025.

“We certainly appeal to all migrant travellers not to overexert themselves, maintain emotional control, and use the rest areas available along both toll roads and arterial routes as places to rest,” said Brigadier General Faizal, Director of Law Enforcement at Korlantas Polri, at the Command Centre at kilometre 29 in Bekasi, West Java, in the early hours of Sunday (15 March).
