PT Taspen (Persero) has distributed benefits from the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programmes totalling IDR 1,081,806,097 to two families of civil servants (ASN) in the Riau Islands Province. This distribution is part of the protection programme managed by Taspen to ensure the rights of participants and their families are fulfilled when facing the risks of work accidents or death during their service period.

Taspen’s President Commissioner, Fary Djemy Francis, stated that social protection for civil servants is not only present while they are performing their duties but also when the families left behind need certainty regarding their entitlements. ‘Taspen is committed to providing maximum service to all participants, both ASN and PPPK, including the fulfilment of rights to pension programmes, JKK, JKM, and Old-Age Savings (THT),’ Fary said after handing over the benefits to the heirs of the two deceased civil servants, accompanied by Taspen Tanjungpinang Branch Manager Agnes Salidesi Ginting.

The first benefit was handed over to the heir of the late Nurijanah, a 33-year-old Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK) at the Riau Islands Provincial Secretariat. The handover was witnessed by the Riau Islands Regional Secretary and the Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Secretariat. The late Nurijanah had only been appointed as a PPPK for six months and had paid contributions of approximately IDR 46,000 per month for just two months. All medical expenses due to the work accident were covered, amounting to IDR 649,564,597, in addition to a death benefit due to a work accident of IDR 182,994,400, and a return of contributions along with Old-Age Security (JHT) benefits of IDR 312,800. The benefit was handed over to Ali, the biological father of the deceased, at Graha Kepri. This case serves as proof that Taspen’s protection is not determined by the length of participation.

The second benefit was handed over to the heir of the late Abdul Azis, a civil servant from Sungai Beduk District, Batam City, witnessed by the Mayor of Batam. The late Abdul Azis received benefits consisting of JKK compensation of IDR 164,016,100, JKM benefits of IDR 32,883,300, and Old-Age Savings (THT) of IDR 52,034,900. The handover was made at the Batam Mayor’s Office to Suriati, the wife of the deceased. In addition to these benefits, the heirs also receive a monthly pension, and the participant’s children have the opportunity to receive additional scholarship benefits through the Taspen Proteksi Beasiswa programme organised by Taspen Life. This programme provides scholarship benefits in stages from junior high school, high school/vocational school, to university level.

In the first semester of 2026, the Taspen Tanjung Pinang branch office recorded the distribution of JKK and JKM benefits totalling IDR 9,001,719,031 for 646 claims. Nationally, during the same period, Taspen has distributed JKK and JKM benefits totalling IDR 652,723,331,548 for 50,392 claims. This distribution is part of Taspen’s social protection programme implementation, which focuses on resolving participant rights based on the ‘5T’ principle: Right Person, Right Time, Right Amount, Right Place, and Right Administration. Taspen will continue to strengthen service quality through the development of a Center of Excellence and digital transformation, ensuring that every participant and heir can obtain their rights quickly, accurately, and easily.
