Task Force: Recovery of Ponds in Aceh Enters Damage Identification Phase
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Task Force (Satgas) for Accelerating Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) reports that the process of recovery or rehabilitation and reconstruction of disaster-affected fish ponds is still in the damage identification stage, including identification of the owners. Based on data from Satgas PRR received by ANTARA in Banda Aceh on Wednesday, the identification of damage and pond owners is conducted by involving business actors (by name and address) along with the respective Marine and Fisheries Offices (DKP). The Head of the Regional Post Satgas PRR, Safrizal ZA, stated that the fisheries or pond sector currently has sufficiently complete data, and the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) continues to carry out repair efforts. Based on data received by Satgas PRR up to 6 April 2026, the area of disaster-affected ponds in 18 districts/cities in Aceh reaches 30,417 hectares. Additionally, cages cover 1,953 hectares with a total of 18,593 cultivators. From Satgas data, proposals for additional budget for handling rehabilitation and reconstruction have been made amounting to Rp1.7 trillion. Furthermore, KKP has completed the master plan and action plan. This means, he said, all recovery steps are in process, including the preparation of technical guidelines for post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in the marine and fisheries sector. Safrizal emphasised that the data for recovery in the marine and fisheries sector is still continuously moving, as field teams do not stop working to ensure that all affected parties are accommodated. “This data can continue to move because the field teams are continuously working, so that no one is left out or removed from the records we have,” said Safrizal ZA.
