JAKARTA - The central government claims to have disbursed Rp 10.56 trillion for post-disaster rehabilitation in Sumatra. “There has been a transfer to the regions amounting to Rp 10.65 trillion, which has been fully received by all regions, and was completed in stages and fully by 4 May,” said Amran, Spokesperson for the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Post-Disaster in Sumatra, during a press conference at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Amran stated that local governments have received all the budget to support activities related to rehabilitation and construction. With the completion of the budget transfer, local governments now have full capacity to execute rehabilitation and reconstruction programmes in their respective regions. Furthermore, Amran added, the central government has also channelled additional Regional Transfers (TKD) for the Temporary Housing Waiting Funds (DTH). “That has been 100 percent received by the regions in the three provinces, and it is already visible at 100 percent,” he added. Unlike permanent housing which requires long-term planning, the construction of temporary housing or huntara is nearly complete at 93 percent. “Temporary housing is already at 93 percent. This is almost fully completed overall, as our target is to ensure all communities are facilitated to live in huntara,” he stated. “In North Sumatra, it is 98.2 percent, in Aceh 89 percent. Only a few markets are currently being maximised to be occupied as soon as possible,” he said. From the aspect of health facilities (hospitals and puskesmas) that were previously affected, they are now 100 percent operational again.
