Task force meets KONI chairman
JAKARTA (JP): The task force responsible for reviewing the National Sports Council's (KONI) statute, held a meeting with newly elected council chairman Wismoyo Arismunandar on Friday to discuss progress on the statute preparation.
Head of the task force, Putra Astaman, said that his team suggested that an executive member could hold more than one post on the board.
A deputy chief, for example, could also head either the sports committee or the central executive board which supervised training centers, he said.
"We are considering ways to make the executive board more effective and efficient."
He said that the task force had not discussed a possible reduction of council membership.
The task force was set up after KONI held a congress last February and is expected to finalize their proposals by March 17.
The 350 congress participants reelected Wismoyo for his second four-year period by a two-thirds majority. (ivy)
