Task Force Head Tito Joins President in Performing Eid al-Fitr Prayer in Aceh Tamiang Regency

Interior Minister (Mendagri) and Head of the Task Force (Kasatgas) for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Disaster in Sumatra, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, together with President Prabowo Subianto, performed Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers at Masjid Darussalam in the temporary housing complex (huntara) in Aceh Tamiang on Saturday (21/3/2026).

The prayer ceremony proceeded solemnly. After the prayers, the President and Kasatgas Tito conducted halal bihalal greetings with the local community. The President also symbolically distributed Eid packages consisting of basic food supplies and worship essentials to the people of Aceh Tamiang.

The presence of President Prabowo along with his entourage serves as a symbol of the state’s presence for communities affected by natural disasters in the Sumatra region.

In his statement to the media, President Prabowo extended Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings.

The President also offered apologies for any shortcomings to all Indonesian people, especially those affected by disasters. He expressed appreciation for the very rapid progress in recovery efforts.

“Yes, the repairs and recovery are very fast. Alhamdulillah, nearly 100 percent [no one left in tents]. There are no more [evacuees] in tents, 100 percent,” said President Prabowo.

Furthermore, the President expressed appreciation because the situation in the evacuation areas has gradually improved. Currently, the evacuees have occupied the temporary housing prepared by the government.

In addition, electricity access in the affected areas has almost fully been restored. Besides that, aid to disaster-affected communities has also been distributed.

“I am very proud, thank you to all the personnel, all the apparatus, from the TNI, Polri, BNPB, Public Works, local government, all ministries and agencies that have worked extraordinarily. They have worked extraordinarily to help the people in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, and in other provinces,” stated the President.

As part of the activities, the President, accompanied by Kasatgas Tito, also directly inspected the temporary housing locations for disaster-affected residents.

In addition to Kasatgas Tito, the President was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, National Police Chief General (Pol) Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, and other relevant parties.
