Tasikmalaya smash kills five

TASIKMALAYA, West Java: Five people were killed on Wednesday when their Mitsubishi minibus collided with a Kramatjati bus near Mulai Rasa village in Ciawi subdistrict of Tasikmalaya regency.

Ciawi Police said that the minibus, with five passengers, was on the way from Soekarno-Hatta airport to pick up migrant workers.

The minibus was completely destroyed in the crash and all its passengers -- three men and two women -- died instantly.

The drivers of the minibus and the Kramatjati bus were reportedly injured, but it was not clear whether their injuries were serious or not.

Ciawi Police said they were investigating the cause of the accident.

The victims are Didumuhadin, 40; Mu'awiyah, 35, both from Langensari in Ciawi; Rahman, 36, a resident of Ciamis and Dalimi, 36, the resident of Langensari of Ciawi. Another body was still unidentified. Their relatives had taken their bodies from Landow Public Health Center. --Antara
