The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) in Tasikmalaya City, West Java, has ensured the readiness for the departure of 1,339 prospective Hajj pilgrims (calhaj) for 2026. All stages of documentation have been completed, and the primary focus is now on strengthening the pilgrims’ health conditions before departing for the Holy Land.

The Head of the Hajj and Umrah Organising Section in Tasikmalaya City, Husna Mustopa, stated that all crucial administrative matters, including the pilgrims’ visas, have been processed. With the documentation affairs finalised, pilgrims are urged to be more disciplined in maintaining their physical and mental preparedness.

“Ahead of the departure of the 1,339 calhaj from Tasikmalaya City, we have prepared four flight groups (kloter). The departure schedule has been set, starting with the first kloter on 23 April 2026,” said Husna on Thursday (9/4).

Based on data from Kemenag Tasikmalaya City, the details of the pilgrims’ departure schedule are as follows: [Note: Specific schedule details were not provided in the article text.]

In addition to regular pilgrims, the Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, along with his wife, is scheduled to depart on 8 May 2026 via the special Hajj route. Meanwhile, the Secretary General of Tasikmalaya City, Asep Goparullah, will depart on 13 May 2026 as part of kloter 28.

Husna explained that this year there is a policy to reduce several ceremonial activities. This step is taken deliberately to ensure pilgrims do not experience unnecessary fatigue before departure, given that Hajj is a physically demanding worship.

“We ensure there are no changes to the national departure schedule, which begins on 21 April 2026. We have also prepared kloter officers, worship guides, and a health team to accompany the pilgrims intensively,” she added.

Kemenag urges pilgrims to maintain a healthy lifestyle by regularly engaging in light exercise, regulating their diet, and getting sufficient rest. Pilgrims are also reminded to bring personal necessities, especially routine medications for those with certain medical histories.

On the other hand, pilgrims’ families are asked not to overdo the farewell processions. This is aimed at maintaining calm and avoiding physical fatigue for pilgrims before entering the Hajj dormitory.

All series of Hajj simulations at the Tasikmalaya City level have been declared complete. With thorough preparations in terms of documentation and worship guidance, Kemenag is optimistic that this year’s Hajj departure will proceed smoothly and orderly.
