According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), Tashriq Days are the three days after Eid al-Adha, specifically the 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah. Muslims are permitted to slaughter sacrificial animals during these days if they have not done so on the 10th.

The term ‘Tashriq’ derives from the Arabic word ‘syarraqa’, relating to drying meat in the sun. Historically, sacrificial meat was preserved this way to extend its shelf life.

Tashriq Days are also known as days of feasting, drinking, and remembrance of Allah. Therefore, fasting is prohibited during this period, as per the hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW, which states these days are for eating and drinking.

For Hajj pilgrims, Tashriq Days are part of the rituals in Mina. During this time, they perform the stoning of the jamarat, a mandatory Hajj ritual after standing at Arafat and staying overnight in Muzdalifah.

Based on the determination of the start of Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H and the 2026 Hajj schedule, Eid al-Adha falls on 27 May 2026, corresponding to 10 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H. The Tashriq Days follow immediately after.

The schedule for Tashriq Days 2026 is as follows:

  • Thursday, 28 May 2026: First Tashriq Day (11 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H)

  • Friday, 29 May 2026: Second Tashriq Day (12 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H)

  • Saturday, 30 May 2026: Third Tashriq Day (13 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H)

During this period, Hajj pilgrims in Mina perform the stoning of the jamarat. Meanwhile, Muslims across Indonesia use these days to continue slaughtering and distributing sacrificial meat, as well as increasing remembrance of Allah.

The government has declared 27 May 2026 as the national holiday for Eid al-Adha 1447 H, as stipulated in the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026.

In addition to the national holiday, a collective leave day has been set for 28 May 2026, coinciding with the first Tashriq Day (11 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H).

The Eid al-Adha holiday period for 2026 will therefore span two consecutive days: 27–28 May. This period is typically used by Muslims for family visits, performing sacrifices, and continuing religious observances during Tashriq Days.
