Tariffs Adjusted, ASDP Ensures Optimal Tarakan–Sebawang Service
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Angkutan Sungai, Danau dan Penyeberangan Indonesia Ferry (Persero) assures that services on the Tarakan-Sebawang route remain optimal, safe, and sustainable for ferry users amid the implementation of tariff adjustments.
“Although the tariff adjustment for the Tarakan–Sebawang route has been in effect since Monday (6/04), we continue to ensure that services remain optimal, safe, and sustainable,” said the President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Heru Widodo, in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
He stated that the policy refers to the Decree of the Governor of North Kalimantan Number 100.3.3.1/78/2026 as the third amendment to previous regulations regarding inter-district/city ferry transport in North Kalimantan Province.
According to Heru, the tariff adjustment is part of efforts to maintain a balance between service quality, safety, and operational sustainability amid the continuously growing needs of the community.
He emphasised that the policy represents the company’s commitment to supporting government policy directions while delivering increasingly reliable services.
The Tarakan-Sebawang route is served by the KMP Manta with a capacity of 627 GT, which can carry up to 202 passengers and 19 vehicles.
This capacity is a key element in ensuring smooth mobility for the community while supporting logistics distribution in the region.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of ASDP Balikpapan, Muhammad Ramadhani, added that from January to March 2026, the route has served 1,817 passengers and 2,325 vehicles.
This achievement underscores the route’s strategic role as a vital connector between regions.
Ramadhani said that ticket purchases in Tarakan now adopt digital transformation through the Ferizy platform. Through this system, users can make independent ticket reservations up to 60 days before the departure schedule.
This digitalisation not only provides transaction convenience but also reduces queues at the port and minimises the potential for vehicle congestion.
Additionally, passenger and vehicle data management becomes more accurate, thereby supporting improvements in overall safety and comfort aspects.
As a national ferry operator, ASDP is committed to continuously providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable services.
The latest ASDP ferry tariffs for the Tarakan–Sebawang crossing, which have been increased since 6 April, are as follows: for passengers, adults Rp81,000 and infants/children Rp9,100. For vehicles in group I (bicycles) Rp100,000, group II (motorcycles) Rp190,000, and group III Rp310,000.
Then, for passenger vehicles from Rp1.3 million to Rp3.2 million, and for goods vehicles from Rp1.25 million to Rp3.2 million.
These tariffs have increased by around 15–20% compared to before, and the route is approximately 48 nautical miles.
