Tap water supply disrupted

JAKARTA (JP): The supply of tap water in Cilincing, Tanjung Priok, Pademangan, Ancol, Pluit, Muara Karang, Koja, Kelapa Gading and Sunter in North Jakarta will be disrupted today.

The unexpected suspension of water is due to the repair of equipment belonging to state-owed electricity company PLN, Rama Boedi, a director of the city-owned water company PAM Jaya said.

He was quoted as saying by Antara yesterday that tap water in East Jakarta would also be disrupted for similar reasons.

The water supply will return to normal soon after the PLN repair work is completed, he said. He did not say how long the repairs would take. (sur)
