Tantowi Yahya, Giring, and Trio Libels Enliven Humanitarian Fundraising Night

Singer and former Indonesian Ambassador Tantowi Yahya has called on the public to strengthen their concern for others through humanitarian programmes managed by the Lions Indonesia Foundation (YLI). The appeal was made by Tantowi during his performance at a fundraising evening titled ‘Romancing The Past’, held at The Ballroom Djakarta Theater in Central Jakarta.

As a Brand Ambassador for the Lions Indonesia Foundation, Tantowi stressed that public involvement is crucial in supporting the sustainability of its social mission, particularly in expanding the Lions Halfway House facilities for children with cancer and providing services at the Haemodialysis Clinic for those in need.

The event, which took place on 6 June 2026, also marked 46 years of the Lions Indonesia Foundation’s service in the country. Chairman of the Foundation’s Board, Peter C, explained that the fundraising night serves as a bridge for non-member members of the public to contribute concretely to the humanitarian movement.

‘Our main goal is to raise funds for the operation and development of the Halfway House and the Lions Haemodialysis Clinic. We want to introduce more widely that these services are open and require support from all levels of society,’ said Peter.

Event Committee Chair Wenni Arsianty revealed that the concept was deliberately packaged with a nostalgic feel to provide comfort for the donors. Tantowi Yahya’s performance, accompanied by the Thomshell Big Band, successfully captivated the audience for three full hours.

In addition to Tantowi, the entertainment stage was also enlivened by a line-up of well-known artists such as Trio Libels, Putri Ayu, Alfred Ayal, and Il Bido. The presence of public figures such as Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha, Inspector General of the Ministry of Culture Fryda Luciana, and senior musician Andre Hehanusa added to the event’s prestigious weight.

Public enthusiasm appeared very high, evidenced by tickets being sold out well before the day of the event. Invited guests seemed to stay until the end, enjoying the blend of quality entertainment and the spirit of giving.

Through this momentum, the Lions Indonesia Foundation hopes that public awareness of children’s health issues and access to dialysis for underprivileged citizens can continue to grow, in line with the foundation’s spirit of service that has been running for nearly half a century.
