Tanker Fleet Expanded to Accelerate Fuel Supply in Flores
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is taking swift action to normalise the distribution of fuel in the Flores region of East Nusa Tenggara following the earthquake. One of the strategic measures being undertaken is the addition of tanker trucks brought in directly from Bima, West Nusa Tenggara.
Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus, Ahad Rahedi, stated that various acceleration measures are being carried out to restore energy services to all distribution agencies in the affected areas.
“Various acceleration measures are being undertaken to restore fuel distribution to all distribution agencies, including through supply diversion and the addition of tanker trucks from Bima, as well as accelerating the recovery of petrol station operations,” Ahad said in an official statement in Kupang on Monday.
In an effort to strengthen stock levels, Pertamina dispatched a total of 11 tanker trucks from Bima to Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency. All of the vehicles were reported to have arrived safely in Labuan Bajo on Monday morning. The tanker crews immediately proceeded to their designated petrol stations to expedite the refuelling process and ensure that the public quickly regains access to energy.
Based on the latest data, the recovery process is showing positive progress. Of the 52 petrol stations in the Flores region, 47 have returned to normal operations. However, five locations remain in the process of operational recovery.
Ahad emphasised that Pertamina’s commitment is to ensure that energy access is maintained amid the post-earthquake conditions. Optimising supply routes and diverting supplies from the nearest areas are priorities so that distribution to petrol stations in need is not hampered.
In this recovery process, Pertamina continues to prioritise safety aspects, inspection of facilities and infrastructure, and operational readiness before petrol stations resume serving the public.
