Tanjungpinang Immigration Detention Centre Deports 25 Vietnamese Nationals

Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) - The Tanjungpinang Immigration Detention Centre (Rudenim) in Riau Islands has deported 25 Vietnamese nationals for immigration violations. Erybowo Rady Asmono, Head of the Tanjungpinang Rudenim, stated on Monday that immigration law enforcement is crucial for maintaining order among foreign nationals in Indonesia and supporting national security. “Immigration law enforcement is not solely oriented towards imposing sanctions, but also ensures that every administrative action is carried out professionally, transparently, and with respect for human rights,” Erybowo said. He added that the deportation was part of the duties of the Placement, Security, Repatriation, and Deportation Division to uphold state sovereignty and prevent actions by foreign nationals that contravene the law. “Synergy among work units within the Directorate General of Immigration and cooperation with various stakeholders are key to realising effective immigration law enforcement,” he stated. I Wayan Putu Wiadnya, Head of the Placement, Security, Repatriation, and Deportation Division, explained that the 25 Vietnamese nationals were deported via Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam, departing on a flight to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. He confirmed that the entire repatriation process was carried out after all administrative and immigration requirements were fully met in accordance with applicable regulations. Prior to deportation, the individuals underwent a period of detention at the Tanjungpinang Rudenim, during which identity verification, completion of immigration administration, and coordination with the Vietnamese Representative Office were conducted as the basis for their return to their home country.
