Tanjung Priok Port Police Probing Creator of THR Request Letter

Tanjung Priok Port Police are investigating the party responsible for creating and circulating a letter that requests the Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR) from employers in the run-up to Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH. ‘We are still examining who created and distributed it,’ said AKBP Aris Wibowo, the Chief of Tanjung Priok Port Police, when contacted on the night of Wednesday, 4 March. Aris said his ranks were prioritising informing the business community that the letter was not issued by the police. ‘Our main priority is to promptly inform service providers so that no party suffers harm,’ he added. Separately, Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, said authorities are also investigating the creator and distributor of the THR letter. ‘It is being investigated because Polres Tanjung Priok never sent that document,’ he stated. Earlier, a circulated letter carried the header of the Tanjung Priok Port Police with number B/01/III/2026/Satlantas, dated 4 March 2026. The letter also referred to ‘Participation in Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH Year 2026’. According to the circulating letter, it was addressed to the Director/Head of PT. KPA Transport Company. At the bottom, it bore ‘Sat Lantas Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok.’ ‘In the run-up to Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH / 2026 AD, we, the extended family of Sat Lantas of Tanjung Priok Port Police, seek THR contributions from you for your participation and cooperation,’ the letter read. The Chief of Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKBP Aris Wibowo, denied issuing the THR letter, emphasising that the force never issued such a document. ‘We from the Tanjung Priok Port Police have never issued that letter,’ Aris told reporters on the night of 4 March.
