Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Tanjung Priok Port Police in North Jakarta have constructed five units of posts to serve the public during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriyah exodus and return flows.

“We are involving 130 personnel and a joint team from the TNI, Sat Brimob of Polda Metro Jaya, Ditsamapta, Pramuka, Saka Bhayangkara, Pelindo, Pelni, KSOP, and others,” said the Head of Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKBP Aris Wibowo, in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that the five posts consist of three security posts located at Post 9 of Tanjung Priok Port, NPCT 1, and the Muara Baru area.

Additionally, there is one service post at the Muara Angke Port Dock and one integrated post at the Tanjung Priok Port passenger terminal.

The presence of these posts, he said, brings services closer to the public who will be travelling for Eid, whether by ship from Tanjung Priok Port or to the Thousand Islands or other areas at the existing docks.

According to him, officers will assist the public in their travels and provide security and public order advisories to ensure the exodus journey runs smoothly.

Aris said that if criminal acts or unwanted incidents occur, the public can report directly to the available posts. “There is also a Police Sub-Sector here, and it will be processed further,” he added.

He also advised Eid travellers to always be cautious during their journeys, especially regarding their carried belongings. Moreover, the quite dense activities in the port area must be a concern to ensure that security and public order are always well maintained.

“We ask the public to also comply with the existing rules and always take care of themselves. If something unpleasant happens, the officers are ready to help,” he stated.
