Tanjung Priok Gets PLN’s 5,000th SPKLU, Ready to Serve EVs Nationwide
Jakarta – PLN (Persero) officially commenced operation of the 5,000th Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) in Indonesia, located at UP3 Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
The introduction of this facility is part of the ongoing development of electric vehicle infrastructure as the EV population grows in the country.
Adi Priyanto, PLN’s Director of Retail and Marketing, said the SPKLU development is aligned with the rising use of electric vehicles over the past few years.
According to him, the SPKLU is not merely an additional facility, but a key enabler of daily mobility for electric vehicle users.
Therefore, PLN presents the SPKLU Center concept in Tanjung Priok, with several charging options in a single location.
Users can choose between fast charging and regular charging according to their vehicle requirements and parking duration.
SPKLU Center Tanjung Priok is equipped with two 200 kW Ultra Fast Charging units, six 120 kW Ultra Fast Charging units, and one 22 kW Medium Charging unit.
All chargers use CCS2 and AC connectors, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of electric vehicle models sold in Indonesia.
In addition to serving electric cars, the site also provides two SPKLU units for two-wheelers and two Public Battery Swapping Stations (SPBKLU) to support electric motorcycle users.
‘We will continue to tailor infrastructure development to the rapidly growing needs of EV users. Charging infrastructure will continue to be expanded so services are increasingly accessible across various regions,’ said Adi.
Meanwhile, PLN UID Jakarta Raya General Manager Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin said SPKLU Center Tanjung Priok complements similar facilities previously available in Bulungan, Menteng, Rest Area Cibubur KM 10.6, and Sakura Garden City.
With the addition of the new location, there are now five PLN SPKLU Centers in the Jakarta area to support electric mobility, for daily use as well as long-distance travel.
