Tanjung Duren more chaotic

Tanjung Duren more chaotic

From Bisnis Indonesia

Rapid development has apparently not solved squatter problems
and chaos in the Tanjung Duren area, West Jakarta.

The City Water Company is still digging channels, with PT
Lampiri subcontracted to do the job. The company has not
completed the work, judging from the scattered pipes on the road
side.

Digging has not been done neatly and roads are left damaged
for indefinite periods, as has happened on Jl. Mangga II, Jl.
Asem and Jl. Tanjung Duren Barat II.

One-way streets in Tanjung Duren Barat (Kopro Market) are no
longer one-way, and Metro mini buses are coming in from the
direction of the market and jamming the road junction.

We hope that with the Golden anniversary of Indonesia this
year, Tanjung Duren will become a much better organized area.
