Tangsel's 2027 RKPD Focuses on Infrastructure
South Tangerang Mayor Benyamin Davnie has affirmed that infrastructure development remains the primary focus in the South Tangerang City Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) for 2027. This priority runs parallel to strengthening the education and health sectors.
The statement was made by Benyamin after opening the Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) for the 2027 RKPD at the Blandongan Room of the South Tangerang City Government Office, on Thursday (9/4/2026).
“In 2027, we will still focus on infrastructure,” said Benyamin.
According to him, the direction of future infrastructure development will not only rely on physical construction but will also target fundamental urban issues. The city government will expand the scope of handling, from waste management, transportation, roads, bridges, to drainage systems.
“We are breaking down the infrastructure further, starting from waste management, transportation, roads, bridges, to drainage. All of this remains a primary concern,” he explained.
He emphasised that waste issues will become a crucial matter handled comprehensively, from upstream at the community level to transportation and distribution systems. Meanwhile, in flood management, the South Tangerang City Government will strengthen supporting infrastructure development such as roads, bridges, rivers, and drainage to make them more optimal.
On the other hand, the health and education sectors remain strategic priorities in improving the quality of human resources.
The South Tangerang City Government is also beginning to promote the transformation of digital-based public services through the development of the integrated application “Tangsel One”. This application is designed to integrate various government services into one platform that is easily accessible to the public.
“All services will later be consolidated into one application. The public can also directly convey aspirations through that system,” said Benyamin.
Nevertheless, he acknowledged that implementing technology in the government environment still faces challenges, particularly in managing human resources to remain efficient without adding to employee expenditure burdens.
In addition, Benyamin highlighted the need to update Law No. 25 of 2004 to be more adaptive to the dynamics of regional needs.
According to him, the regulation needs to be adjusted to current conditions so that local governments have greater flexibility in responding to public needs.
“The public today wants their flooding, waste, traffic congestion, and so on to be addressed. However, the city government’s instruments can only carry out activities in accordance with the APBD regulations. This is important to avoid potential legal violations,” he said.
The 2027 RKPD Musrenbang is a follow-up stage in the development planning process that has started from the sub-district, district, to the regional apparatus forum levels.
Through this forum, the South Tangerang City Government aims to produce a more responsive, measurable development plan capable of addressing various urban issues, especially amid challenges of urbanisation and continuously increasing population growth.
