Tangsel to Develop AI Service, Integrating Permit Access and Information
The Tangerang Selatan City Government will launch a digital AI-based service named Tangsel ONE on 30 April 2026. This platform enables residents to manage permits and even find culinary options simply through WhatsApp conversations.
The service is designed as an integrated system hub to reduce bureaucracy and accelerate access to public information. The city government targets more responsive services with a chat-first approach based on artificial intelligence.
Head of the Communication and Informatics Department of Tangerang Selatan, TB Asep Nurdin, stated that this platform represents a step in government digital transformation. “The people of Tangerang Selatan live in a dynamic and continuously growing city. As activities increase, new challenges arise regarding how residents’ information and needs can be accessed quickly, easily, and connected within an efficient single system. Tangsel ONE was born to address these challenges as an integrated digital service centre,” said Asep on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
Asep explained that residents can handle permits, submit complaints, and seek city information through a single channel. All services are accessed via conversations without the need for face-to-face interactions.
“For us, a smart city is not just about technology or digitalisation alone. It is about people—about the residents of Tangerang Selatan who deserve fast, transparent public services that truly make their lives easier. Technology is merely a tool, but the main goal is to bring a government that is more present, more responsive, and more caring towards the community’s needs,” Asep remarked.
The platform also provides recommendations for local tourism and culinary experiences. Residents simply type their requests in the chat space to receive information.
“From recommendations for tourist destinations, exploration of local cuisine, to other public service information. Everything is served in a single chat space,” said Asep.
Access to the service is achieved by scanning QR codes available on official channels and public spaces. Residents then connect directly to the official Tangsel ONE WhatsApp.
“The official launch of this service is scheduled for 30 April 2026. Accessing it is very easy; residents just need to scan the QR codes we have provided on various official information channels or through billboards in city corners,” Asep stated.
The city government is also preparing a 24-hour service system with a friendly yet professional communication style. The platform is positioned as a city assistant for residents.
“Through Tangsel ONE, we position ourselves as a ‘city assistant’ ready to help 24 hours a day, every day,” said Asep.
The city government is promoting the concept of “One Access, One Data, One Tangsel” to integrate thousands of services into a single gateway. This system is expected to accelerate the city’s digital transformation and improve the quality of public services.
