The Special Committee (Pansus) of the South Tangerang City DPRD claims to have obtained data related to the Ciputat River after conducting investigations at the Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Main Agency (BBWSC2) and the Directorate General of Water Resources (Dirjen SDA).

The Pansus Chairman, Ahmad Syawqi, stated that the data was acquired after reviewing documents from the era when South Tangerang was still part of Tangerang Regency.

“From the regency era, we also tried to review it, then we cross-checked with BBWSC2 and Dirjen SDA,” said Syawqi when met on Thursday (7/5/2026).

This is because the results of the documentation and investigation will be presented through a special exposure regarding those old permit documents.

“Yes, they have already provided it, but regarding that, it has to be later; yes, later we will have an exposure about that specifically,” he said.

The Pansus, he added, has also coordinated with working partners and Commission IV of the DPRD regarding technical issues, including the function of water gates in the area.

“Well, we coordinated this yesterday with partners and also Commission IV so that there is handling of those technical matters,” he said.

However, the proposal is not just a recommendation but will be included in a regional regulation (Perda).

“So it’s not just a proposal, but it becomes a policy that we ensure is included in the body of the regional regulation,” Syawqi explained.

“At that time, we didn’t have a spatial planning Perda yet. So they had the permit at a time when we didn’t have spatial planning regulations because we had that at the end of 2011, while they carried out the permitting process in early 2011,” he said.

The current revision of spatial planning, which is being discussed in the draft regional regulation, becomes a momentum for evaluating and improving spatial planning in South Tangerang.
